Caution; Sunscreen formulations may change each spring, so be particularly prudent about checking the ingredients - they are also considered medicinal products so don't have to
list all ingredients. Many of them don't list their salicylate ingredients. See
Getting Product Sal-Info. Usually it pays to stock up on *sal-Free products but this
doesn't work for sunscreens because the SPF factor diminishes over time although
if you store it in a cool place the chemical degradation is slowed, just like
camera film and batteries. If you order extra bottles, store them in the
refrigerator until you need them. Don't keep your sunscreen in the car for
too long as it will get too hot. Also see

[there are several brands of zinc oxide diaper cream that are *sal-free and
are the best cheapest sunblock you can find, anywhere. Be
sure to check the ingredients. A 5% titanium dioxide sunscreen is about SPF
15, and these are at least 15% zinc oxide so they are equivalent
to SPF 30. These products can be a bit thick and white, but
you can safely put some water on your hands to apply them and rub
them in well. These products work very well [unless you want
some tan]. They are NOT water resistant.
