Posting Guide for
the Guai-Support Mailing List
The list is known as the GG (Guai Group) thus the logo
[GG] (since abbreviations omit hyphenated words) & the subscribers known
endearingly as Guais. (Note 2002: Not to be
confused with the 'newer/younger' group who elected to utilize this name.) Contents
3. Subject Line (Topic & Subject keywords) 5. Conduct & Privacy (Including No advertising) 6. Moderation 7. Archives (you can read, send new messages & reply to messages from the archives) 8. Subscription Help (Joining, Leaving, Mailing Options, Topic choices, Troubleshooting, etc.)

Address your message to: GUAI-SUPPORT@COMMUNITY.LSOFT.COM
When you want to respond to the list membership choose REPLY.
When you want to respond only to
the author of the message, choose REPLY ALL and delete the list address from the
To: or Cc: field. (Please only send replies to the list by using REPLY, and not FORWARD. Forwarding renders your topic keyword ineffective, relocates it to OTHER, and will break the connections of the thread in the archives)
3. Subject Line
This is where you outline & Define the content of your message. It's an opportunity to ensure that your message reaches and is read by the most interested parties, e.g., those following the guai protocol who are not interested in debate about it or other theories regarding what causes FMS, CFS, etc., or other treatments or, alternatively, those only interested in other causes and treatments, etc.
Topic Keywords: There are 3 topics and they are set as default, i.e., GUAI, OTHER & Admin.
(Setting &
Restricting Topics you wish to receive - Different from setting in the subject
line of your message. You have to opt out if you don't want one of the topics. However, the digest includes all topics and cannot be changed. If you are set to receive mail, it would best serve you to keep ADMIN set.
Click here to set topics via web interface.
Inserting topics in the subject line of your message to the list
OTHER:
your own subject keywords defining the content of your message Only administrators may insert (send) ADMIN in the topic line. As it states, administrative matters will go via this topic but occasionally other issues we deem important may also arrive under this topic. Please do not reply to the ADMIN topic. You may reply privately to the administrators (Wendy & Tesa - mailto:GUAI-SUPPORT-request@COMMUNITY.LSOFT.COM ) or there will be a direction noted in the admin letter telling you what subject line to use for replies.
GUAI is the ONLY topic keyword that you need to insert when writing a message to the list (if you want to direct your message to that topic).
If your message is related to GUAI, insert the topic keyword (TKW) GUAI at the beginning of your subject line and follow it with a colon, e.g.,
GUAI: Your Subject Keywords
If the TKW is not in the format above (TKW followed by a colon), your mail will be relocated to OTHER automatically. Those who have opted out of receiving the OTHER topic will not see the message.
All discussion specifically related to the guaifenesin protocol can be sent to the GUAI topic so that those who are only interested in the protocol are not subjected to other discussions. This topic is not a debate topic (see FMS topic for debate). It is a support topic only. It will include all salicylate queries, requests for product information and suggestions, updates on any product ingredients, etc., doctors & mappers/mapping, etc.
The OTHER topic can be left unlabeled, if you wish, except of course, for the addition of your own descriptive subject keywords defining the content of your message.
OTHER:
Your Subject Keywords Questions and requests for information about FMS, what FMS may actually be, theories of causes & treatments (debate allowed as long as it respects the Safe Haven principle), hypoglycemia, insulin resistance, Syndrome X, Diabetes, Diabetes Type 11/Adult Onset Diabetes, etc.), personal experience re treatment, support & exchange of recipes & ideas, exercise, pensions & health insurance, etc.
Subject KeyWords: Please insert 'Subject KeyWords' (SKW's) relevant to your message on original messages and change them in replies if you're changing the discussion.
Spiritual, Alternate or Complimentary healing theories and message of support or requests/offers for any type of energy healing etc., are acceptable and should go to the list without a topic keyword. However it is always appropriate to label your message clearly so that members disinterested of any particular discussions can opt out by deleting that message/thread.
Meditation: Your Descriptive SKW Reiki: Your Descriptive SKW Gupta: Your Descriptive SKW EFT: Your Descriptive SKW
No discussion of politics or religion under any topic.
Plain Text: Please set plain text for messages to the list, i.e., charset="US-ASCII"
(No charset="iso-8859-1).
Quoting: Quoting in email vernacular refers to the practice of leaving the previous message, in whole or part, attached to your response.
Although lack of adequate quoting can be confusing to the reader, so can too much.
We prefer that you remove the previous message before sending your response to the list but be sure to do that after you've selected the parts you are going to use as a quote (reference).
It IS good to be brief, but it's also necessary to provide a context so we can understand. Make your reply relevant to the quote (reference) you insert.
Although it is often best to delete the previous message you are replying to and simply include a quote/reference from it above your own response, it sometimes makes sense of a complex issue if you intersperse your response(s) within the text of the previous message.
Include blank lines, especially if
the discussion is complex. Long paragraphs are hard to follow.
The above formats contribute to making the digests cleaner and more readable as well.
Members can go to the archives to remind themselves of the history of a particular thread/discussion.

5. Conduct & Privacy (sorry, but these 'do nots' are deemed necessary). Please....
6. Moderation
While on you will receive an automatic message to tell you your email has been submitted to a moderator, I.E.
"Your message dated ..........
with subject ".........." has been submitted to the moderator of the
GUAI-SUPPORT list:....etc...." While on REVIEW there is sometimes a delay before you see your mail on the list. Your mail is NEVER ignored. If it doesn't reach the list and you don't receive a personal response from a moderator please let our moderator and posting mentor Wendy know.
7. Archives
This is a private List and the messages are archived.
Only members can read the archives but anyone can sign on to read them and then
sign off again so don't write anything you aren't prepared to let the world at
large see. Don’t utilize the archives for personal gain without the
express and written permission of the ListOwner and the author of messages.
